HISTORY – While stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, I was introduced to the practical shooting sports, with an emphasis on tactical 3 gun competition. This particular shooting sport appealed to me as it was an extension of my career. As an airborne infantryman in the U.S. Army, I purchased my first AR-15 upon redeployment from Iraq. Having been more than dissatisfied with some gunsmith’s work in the past, whom didn’t share my attention to detail, I befriended a local gunsmith who taught me how to build and work on the AR-15 platform. As I began to equip and outfit myself for this equipment intensive sport, I like most newcomers, due to lack of experience and knowledge bought equipment that was either inappropriate for the application or altogether unnecessary. Wasting time and money that could have been better spent on ammo and training! As luck would have it, after moving back to Texas in 2005, my search for quality firearms training and 3 gun competition led me to Tac Pro Shooting Center in Mingus, Texas. It was there that I befriended a group of like minded, professional, skilled, and knowledgeable shooters whom share my passion for shooting sports, gunsmithing and firearms training. This environment laid the ground work to help make Lone Star Armory what it is today.
